"Now that we’re alums, we want to pay it forward. We want to help current students and keep Harvard special. This is what really keeps us engaged as well,” says Danielle Feffer ’16 of one of the reasons she and her husband Samuel Becker ’17 have been giving consistently every year since they graduated. Now they participate as Harvard College Fund volunteers in the Associates community.
The two met when Becker offered to help Feffer move a couch in Dunster House, a meeting that grew into a lifelong partnership. The couple shares gratitude for the friendships and memories made during their time at Harvard, which include competing on crew for Feffer and studying historical scientific instruments for Becker.
“I was a grateful recipient of financial aid. It was so incredible to meet some of the donors who made my opportunities possible,” says Becker. “Since then, we've remained involved with spreading knowledge and information with our classmates and peers about the Harvard College Fund and the good work it does.”
