Teleparty (formerly known as Netflix Party) is a fun way to watch Netflix with friends online. It allows you to synchronize video playback and add group chats to your favorite movies and shows on Netflix. By following these few steps, hosting a virtual viewing party should be a breeze!

Step 1: Select a feature for the party

Feature selections should be aligned with the audience you want to attract.  Think of who you want to engage with—your classmates, young alumni, families, etc.—and select something that would be entertaining and appropriate for that group.

Step 2: Select a date and time

You know your communities best. The chosen date and time should be aligned with the availability of the desired audience--with time zones taken into consideration as needed.

Step 3: Select a party host

The party host will need to be comfortable with Netflix and answering any technical questions that may arise. Please carefully read the technical instructions on how to set up a Teleparty and what your guests need to do to access the event.

Step 4: Create an event page and advertise

Create your event page so that guests can register to attend. Your event description should include information on what guests will need to participate, including a Netflix account and Google Chrome web browser, and instructions on what guests need to do in advance of the event to participate. Then, start inviting people with scheduled emails. You could also use your community’s social media platforms to advertise your events.
