I am a state court judge. I sit in Pasadena and handle criminal jury trials and other criminal matters. I am interested in AI and the law, and have published articles on facial recognition technology, geofence searches, use of AI for bail-review, and admissibility of AI-generated evidence. I am authoring a chapter on judicial review of AI evidence for Oxford University Press' upcoming Handbook of AI and Criminal Law, which is scheduled for publication in late 2026. Before being appointed, I was Chief of the Civil Fraud Section at the U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles, so I also have a background in investigating corporate fraud.
