I'm a nurse by profession, a bioethics scholar by training, and an advocate at heart. I've spent more than two decades caring for patients and families, especially children, and my work has taught me that healthcare isn't just about treating disease—it's about listening to people, respecting their autonomy, and ensuring they understand and can access the care they're receiving.
I'm a proud first-generation Mexican American and a lifelong learner. Earning my master's degree in Bioethics from Harvard was never just about earning another degree for me. It was about gaining the tools to turn my healthcare experiences into meaningful advocacy, particularly around language justice, health equity, ethics, and emerging technology.
I'm especially interested in how we can use technology like AI responsibly without allowing it to create new barriers for the people healthcare already struggles to reach. Ultimately, I want my career to sit at the intersection of nursing, ethics, advocacy, and health equity.
And I'm a mother, so a lot of what I do is ultimately about the kind of world I want my daughter to inherit. I want her to know that where you start doesn't determine how far you can go.
