Aligning innovative growth strategies with the brand’s truth, I have also learnt how to integrate sustainability and business strategies and improve the company's ESG profile while maximizing profitability, bridging the interests of shareholders with the ones of other key stakeholders.
Strategic advisor to Laboratoire Cosbionat (France), I bring my first hand experience scaling companies or diverse sizes to help transform herbal medicine company Dr Valnet to a consumer brand of essential oil preparations. Creating a sustainable differentiation requires sharpening the consumer-facing brand and its communication across the digital ecosystem. Preparing a change of scale requires organizational, process, and cultural development, as well as total quality systems, supply chain and distribution redeployment.
As a strategy consultant, I assisted private equity group KKR with due-diligence, and University of Minnesota’s Institute on the Environment with strategic plan and theory of change to facilitate resource allocation, project selection, and organizational alignment.
First director with a corporate background appointed to the Ceres board I served on the corporate, DEI, and audit committees until 2022.
Global President of Aveda Corporation (Estée Lauder Companies Inc.), I led increases of 700% in revenues and 1300% in EBIT by pivoting the company toward international growth, retail and online deployment through radical transformations in product technologies, distribution channels, supply chain, and digital communication and marketing. We created a global service and product innovation capability out of Japan, developing innovations which disrupted the market and redefined the brand’s product portfolio. I learnt to integrate socio-environmental responsibility with business strategy, organizational processes, and culture, making Aveda a leader in naturally derived technologies, responsible packaging, and carbon neutral in scopes 1 and 2.
Prior to Aveda, I worked internationally with both L’Oréal and Procter&Gamble where I integrated the western business needs with the local cultures. I turned around Cosmelor K.K. in Japan and grew sales revenues by 250%. In Thailand, I led L'Oréal's start-up Siampar Ltd. to profitability in its first year of operation.
