Hi everyone, I’m Calvin. Right now, one of my biggest projects is writing a book, which has been both challenging and exciting. When I’m not working on that, I really enjoy staying active — swimming, lifting, yoga, and cycling are all a big part of my routine and help keep me balanced. I’m also passionate about the arts and music. My tastes range widely — I love classical music as much as I love rap — and I spend a lot of time exploring visual art as well. I’m an avid reader, especially when it comes to books written for laypeople about physics. I love the way they make complex ideas accessible and spark curiosity. Another big joy in my life is dancing. Over the years, I’ve taken hip hop, African, and ballet, and even learned the tango — though I’ll admit I’ve forgotten most of the steps by now! Dance has always been a fun and meaningful way for me to connect with movement, rhythm, and culture. I’m really looking forward to meeting all of you, hearing about your passions and interests, and sharing in this space together.

Paola Ovando Peraza is a multidisciplinary designer with a background in the arts and architecture. Her work spans from exhibitions, poetry, photography/film, and architectural conceptual design. Her work has an emphasis on migration and displacement with a focus on its relationship within the built environment.
