You can name Harvard as a beneficiary of some or all of your financial accounts and change the distributions should your circumstances change. The best part? One hundred percent of your gift will go directly to Harvard, as charitable gifts avoid both income and estate taxes, and a gift of any percentage has a significant impact.

How It Works

  • Work with the administrator of your plan or account to designate Harvard as a beneficiary of all or a percentage of your account. List “The President and Fellows of Harvard College” (federal tax ID/EIN: 04-2103580) as your beneficiary.
  • If you wish to designate your gift to a specific School or purpose, please contact us using the form below so we may provide you with the appropriate language—and so we may thank you!

Benefits

  • Easily change your plans as your life circumstances evolve.
  • Avoid income taxes on retirement assets.
  • Avoid estate taxes.
  • Support future generations of Harvard students and faculty.
