What makes someone a hero? And how could it be wrong to call someone a hero if that's what they are? Join Associate Professor of Philosophy Zoë A. Johnson King as she explores the ethics of public praise and gratitude, drawing on her forthcoming book Praiseworthiness and on the case study of praise for essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This program is coordinated through the Office of the Vice Provost for Advances in Learning and will be livestreamed to the alumni community in collaboration with the Harvard Alumni Association.
