I’m retired from 30 years of civil service with the Department of Navy and Department of Defense. I currently working as the Area Director for a Behavioral Health Company that is trying to restructure and realign itself. I am heading up the PHILA Health Systems of North Carolina Western Carolina Region. Launched in Asheville in 2025. So non-profit behavioral health is a primary connection for me and linking the church leaders to get more involved towards a pathway of sustained recovery. The connections for me would be in the area of philanthropic fund raising to HELP build this western area unit.

I've published a memoir and am working on a novel. I live at Earthaven Ecovillage, near Black Mountain, where I hold down four part-time jobs and compost lots of stuff, both material and etheric. I'm obsessed with Scotland and am learning to play the bagpipes. Is anyone else's all-time favorite song "Scotland the Brave"? More at helenzuman.com.

I'd like to find new friends and tp connect around new activities (hiking, live music, gardening, book clubs, etc) in the Asheville area. I coach doctors at several major medical centers around the US but have no colleagues locally.
