On Wednesday, September 11, alumni around the world will come together to welcome members of the Class of 2024 to their new cities! All Harvard University alumni who graduated between 2015 and 2024 are invited to participate.

Ricardo Sánchez is an economist and city planner, specialized in the design, implementation and operation of transportation projects, with a focus on the use of technology to improve public transit and travel experience. He has more than 12 years of professional experience in Latin America working with governments at the local and federal level, multilateral development institutions, NGOs and research institutions. His areas of interest and expertise include urban planning, transportation revenue and fare collection systems, bus fleet operation and regulation, crime prevention and detection in transport and cost/benefit analysis of transportation projects, both at the urban and rural level. Ricardo conceptualizes, evaluates and implements complex mobility projects from mass transit to active modes of transportation, with a particular focus on the introduction of technologies to improve security of riders, enhance transit operations, facilitate fare payment, increase revenues, and reduce costs for both transit agencies and private operators. His expertise includes big data processing and analysis, demand modelling, and geospatial analysis to inform and carry out evidence-based public policies in transportation. Ricardo holds a Master in City Planning from the Massuchetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Master in Public Administration from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.
