Welcome to Your City: Austin

After seven years in London, seven in California, seven in New York, and a smattering of other places, I’ve just moved to Austin and am hoping to make it my permanent home. So far, so good! Excited to meet everyone, hear what you love about Austin, and discover all the things I don’t yet know I should be doing.

Technology director with ~20 years in consulting and industry, building and leading high-performing teams at the intersection of AI, data, and complex operations. At Care Access, I design and deliver data and AI platforms, combining advanced analytics and deep system integrations to modernize clinical operations while maintaining high data integrity. I lead engineers and project specialists to deliver reliable, production-grade solutions. Previously, I drove enterprise initiatives across global airline operations at Copa Airlines. At Infor, I led a team of data scientists and partnered with cross-functional teams, including design, marketing, DevOps, and security, to deliver impactful ML-enabled systems.

Hellen Chabunya is a PhD student in Public Policy at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, University of Texas at Austin, and a Visiting Scholar at Harvard Kennedy School, where she earned her MPA and previously served as a Senior Research Fellow. Her research focuses on political competition, electoral institutions and gender representation in low income democracies, with a particular interest in Malawi. Beyond academia, she is a commercial farmer and entrepreneur in Malawi, founder of Chuma Agricultural Enterprise, and a civic leader serving in several board and political leadership roles, including Vice President of UTM political party.

I"m a solo GTM Engineering and Growth Marketing consultant for B2B startups, primarily focused on building the systems to get my clients bespoke, perfect-fit data for their marketing and sales teams. Prior to starting the consultancy, I spent 15 years in-house in mostly Marketing leadership roles.

I build talking robots that can drive their self.

Graduated from the college in 2025. I am a second-year corp member with Teach for America teaching AP Pre Calculus and Algebra II. I am currently studying for my lsat and plan on applying to law school next cycle to pursue education law.

I'm Mike Randell, and I grew up in Austin but left for undergrad in 2005; I returned in 2021 to be closer to family. I graduated from the Graduate School of Design's Advanced Management Development Program, a one-year on- and off-campus program focused on real estate development, in July 2026, and I'm excited to meet new people in the community. My company arranges debt and equity for real estate developers, owners, and investors; I also volunteer for individuals with disabilities, and I love living in Austin.

Joseph Kopser is a serial entrepreneur and leadership development expert. Prior to that his company, RideScout, was acquired by Mercedes. He served in the Army for 20 years after graduating from West Point and Harvard. He was recognized as a White House Champion of Change in clean energy and won the U.S. DOT Data Innovation Award. Co-author of Catalyst, he is an advisor for several organizations including CleanTX, Capital Factory and UT-Austin.

I'm a girl dad of four, have enjoyed traveling the world, founded Edovo to make free access to education a reality in America's prisons/jails, but just stepped back to start the next venture in the impact space - a nonprofit holding company that acquires for profit companies and converts them into engines for philanthropy (like Patagonia and Newman's Own) to reinvest in the communities in which they operate.
