Biography
Chris Salvaterra AB '90 is Senior Vice President of Drama Series Programming at HBO, where he oversees the development and production of premium drama series from first pitch or submission through premiere. His work includes CHERNOBYL, THE LAST OF US, WINNING TIME, THE GILDED AGE, the currently airing A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS, and the upcoming DTF ST. LOUIS. Over a 25-year career spanning film and television, Salvaterra has worked across studio, independent, and franchise-driven projects, helping creators shape stories that combine emotional depth with scale. He began his career in feature films on projects such as AMERICAN PIE, LADDER 49, HIDALGO, SYRIANA, GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK, and THE VISITOR. After a decade at HBO, he continues to focus on long-term creative partnerships, thoughtful risk-taking, and the ever-more delicate balance between artistic ambition and commercial viability.
