Join Harvard Forest director David Foster for a lecture, lunch, and guided walk at the beautiful Harvard Forest in Petersham, Massachusetts, during foliage season.

Learn about the Harvard Forest-inspired Wildlands and Woodlands conservation vision for New England and how the Harvard Forest team has launched and engaged a growing group of colleges and universities across New England in an innovative effort called ALPINE (Academics for Land Protection in New England).  ALPINE seeks to engage the full breadth of academic institutions (students, staff, faculty, administrations, and alumni) in advancing the conservation of the New England landscape.

Since 1907, the Harvard Forest has served as the university’s outdoor laboratory and classroom for ecology and conservation. During this popular HAA program, you will explore the Fisher Museum, learn how current students engage with the Forest, see first-hand the ongoing climate research happening throughout the forest, and discover how YOU can get involved.

Read more about the Harvard Forest.

Please note:

  • The museum tour, lecture from David Foster, and lunch are all handicapped-accessible. The guided walking tour of the Harvard Forest is not.
