The Parents Fund is an annual fundraising effort that seeks support for areas of immediate need – from advising and residential life to the arts and athletics – that directly impact the Harvard undergraduate experience. Every gift from a Harvard parent strengthens the activities that take place both inside and outside the classroom during the transformative college years.

Every contribution to the Parents Fund directly benefits current students. Your gift affirms the message that parents believe in the value of a Harvard education and its power to prepare their children to lead lives of service to the nation and the world.

Gifts to the Parents Fund give Harvard leaders the flexibility to respond to the existing and emerging needs of our undergraduates. The impact of a flexible gift that supports immediate-use needs is truly phenomenal. It takes $20 of endowment funds to create $1 of payout, so an immediate gift of $100 is equivalent to a $2,000 endowment gift.

We understand that parents make a major financial commitment by paying tuition. Because tuition does not cover the entire cost of a Harvard education, however, a number of crucial fundraising vehicles, including the Parents Fund, help make up the difference.
