Your Harvard: Miami
On Thursday, February 16, alumni and friends gathered at the Faena Forum in Miami Beach for Your Harvard: Miami, a celebration of the Harvard community. As a part of this special evening, Drew Gilpin Faust, President and Lincoln Professor of History, shared her vision for the future of the University and its impact on the world.
The evening included a dynamic faculty conversation featuring evolutionary geneticist Hopi Hoekstra and art historian Jennifer Roberts, and facilitated by author, television writer, and producer Susan Fales-Hill AB '84. Together, they explored the power of observation through the lens of what reconstructing the past can tell us about our future—from seeing things before unseen to new technologies that make it possible to consider eradicating or altering the course of disease, and other advances that would benefit the natural world and humankind. The evening was capped by a festive reception with friends both old and new.
Enjoy highlights from the event:
- Hopi Hoekstra, Alexander Agassiz Professor of Zoology and Curator of Mammals in the Museum of Comparative Zoology
- Jennifer Roberts, Elizabeth Cary Agassiz Professor of the Humanities
- Susan Fales-Hill AB '84, author, television writer, producer
