Your Harvard: Mexico
More than 500 alumni, friends, and faculty joined together at the Museo Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso in the heart of Mexico City for Your Harvard: Mexico on October 21, 2014.
The event, which celebrated the many connections shared by Harvard and Mexico, was part of Your Harvard, a series of events that will be held throughout The Harvard Campaign to bring together the global Harvard community.

The evening's festivities included remarks by Drew Gilpin Faust, president of Harvard University and Lincoln Professor of History, who shared her vision for the future of the University and lauded the longtime relationship between Harvard and Mexico, a country more than 1,200 alumni call home.

In addition to Faust's remarks, the packed auditorium enjoyed an engaging panel discussion examining the importance of the knowledge economy and the university’s role in leading change through innovation in education, as well as the importance of creativity.
The panel was led by Jorge I. Domínguez PhD '72, Harvard's vice provost for international affairs and Antonio Madero Professor for the Study of Mexico, Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Panel participants included Julio Frenk, dean of Harvard School of Public Health and T & G Angelopoulos Professor of Public Health and International Development; Laura Alfaro, Warren Alpert Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School; Mary Schneider Enriquez AB ’81, PhD ’14, Houghton Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Harvard Art Museums; and Alejandro Ramírez Magaña AB ’94, MBA ’01, CEO of Cinépolis, the largest movie theater chain in Latin America.
The program also included a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Fundación México en Harvard, A.C.
