Harvard in Los Angeles
A ReConnect and Your Harvard Program
Nearly a third of Harvard alumni on the West Coast settle in Los Angeles. On Saturday, March 8, many of those alumni assembled for a taste of Cambridge inside the five-story Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. The daylong program, Harvard in Los Angeles, was presented in partnership by the Harvard Alumni Association, the Harvard College Fund, and the Harvard Club of Southern California.
More than 350 Harvard alumni and friends gathered to network with peers, hear from Harvard University President Drew Gilpin Faust and Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) Dean Michael D. Smith, and take part in discussions on why creativity is so essential to living our best lives.
Speakers also included FAS faculty members Beth Altringer, Peter Galison, Daniel Nocera, and Jennifer Roberts, as well as key members of the creative team for The Simpsons—Rich Appel AB ’85, JD ’88, P’16, Al Jean AB ’81, Lauren MacMullan AB ’86, and Jeff Martin AB ’82, P’14—in a panel discussion moderated by Susanne Daniels AB ’87.
