Did you know that mollusks comprise almost a quarter of all known marine species?
The Harvard Alumni Association and the Harvard Museum of Natural History invite you to a special evening dedicated to the natural history and amazing diversity of this remarkable group of invertebrates, which includes snails, clams, squid, and many other fascinating organisms.
First, attend an illustrated lecture by Harvard biologist Gonzalo Giribet who will tell stories of his fieldwork in remote areas of South Australia and the Amazon where he studied invertebrate organisms to help assemble the evolutionary tree of life. Then continue to an exclusive reception in the Harvard Museum of Natural History's new exhibition, Mollusks: Shelled Masters of the Marine Realm. Also enjoy the museum’s other interesting galleries, including the newest gallery, Fishes, which just reopened in June 2012.
